Free Money for College by Laurie Blum $14.95
Here's another book that should grace the shelves at your local high
school library or career counseling center - Free Money for College: A
Guide to More Than 1,000 Grants and Scholarship for Undergraduate Study
by author Laurie Blum. Blum's name is synonymous with free money, as
she's written over twenty books on the subject and has regularly appeared
on various news programs touting the hows and wheres to get free money.
This publication, now in it's fifth edition, filters through the maze of
free money available to high school students and condenses the information
into an easy to read format.
This book not only tells students how to apply for monies, but also
directly where to apply. Blum does not skimp on providing names,
addresses, phone numbers, amount of money given, restrictions and deadline
information to make this easy enough for any student to apply. The
majority of this book lists scholarships by state. However, it also
provides break out sections on scholarships available to women, various
ethnic groups and the disabled and all other scholarships that span a
broader range of eligibilities.
Free Money for College is a quick read, and a good first book
for students just getting started on applying for college scholarships.
