Light the Fire for Education- 2008

What:    Light the Fire for Education, hosted by Northwest Dollars for Scholars®, a program of Scholarship America®, will recognize efforts of local Dollars for Scholars chapters and raise funds to help create and expand the availability of private-sector scholarships and college planning assistance.

Who: Volunteers and community members are invited to attend the Light the Fire for Education reception to show their dedication to providing college planning assistance and scholarships that help students achieve their postsecondary education dreams. Please join us for networking and a brief program. Beer, wine, and hors d'oeuvres will be served.   A minimum donation of $100 is suggested.

Why: Your contribution will greatly affect the lives of young people, by giving Northwest Dollars for Scholars the resources necessary to share its tools and knowledge with communities around Washington and Oregon. With your help, we will increase the number of scholarships to students seeking higher education not by one or two, but by hundreds.
 
  Dollars for Scholars is a national network of grassroots scholarship foundations that raise funds and provide financial and academic support to local students. Dollars for Scholars currently operates 150 chapters in Washington and 12 chapters in Oregon.
